Privacy policy

SeeMeYah (seemeyah.com) is a UK-based digital company. This page explains what personal information we handle when you visit this website or contact us, and what we do with it. The short version: very little, and we don't sell any of it.

What we collect

If you contact us through our contact form, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write. We use this to reply and to carry out any work you ask us to do. We keep correspondence for as long as we need it to manage our relationship with you, then delete it.

If you just browse, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, roughly where visitors are (town or city level), what device and browser they use, and how they found us. It only runs if you accept it in the cookie banner; say no and no analytics cookies are set. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visitors apart, and it does not log your full IP address. We use this to see what's useful and improve the site, nothing more. You can change your cookie choice at any time. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security purposes.

If you sign up to our newsletter, The SeeMeYah Edit, we collect your email address and store it with our email provider, Brevo, so we can send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any email we send, and we'll remove your address on request.

Third parties

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and runs Google Analytics, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads and processes the usage data described above on our behalf. See Google's privacy policy for how they handle that. We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Our newsletter, The SeeMeYah Edit, is run through Brevo, which stores your email address and sends the emails on our behalf. It's covered by their own privacy policy.

Legal basis

Where we process personal information, we rely on legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and running our business) under UK GDPR, and on your consent for analytics cookies and for sending you our newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time by changing your cookie choice or unsubscribing.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch and we'll sort it. If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for SeeMeYah.com is Len Johnson (trading as SeeMeYah).

We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number ZC169736.

You can contact us for any privacy-related question, including requests to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you.

Changes

If we add features that change what we collect (analytics, for example), we'll update this page and the date at the top.
